Green is one of the primary colors of light. It's a primary color in additive color mixing and a secondary color in subtractive color mixing (the product of cyan and yellow). Pure green light has a wavelength of approximately 546nm. Green light accounts for 59% of the perceived brightness of an object. More shades of green can be discriminated by the human eye than any other color. It is also the least eye straining color, which is why it is used in monochrome computer monitors.
